Pastor Scott & Ms. Jackie
Scott Joseph Dotson was born on July 29th, of 1972, to Joe and Pat Dotson of Fairview, North Carolina. While growing up he enjoyed many activities such as hunting, fishing, and shooting. He attended A.C. Reynolds High School, in Buncombe County, and graduated in 1990. In July of 1990, he joined the United States Marine Corps. On February 17th, 1991, while attending a revival meeting with Ms. Jackie, he fell under conviction, and it was on that night he asked Jesus Christ to come into his heart, and to be his personal Savior. On April 13th, 1991, he married his high school sweetheart, Jackie Carver, while stationed at N.A.S. Millington, Tennessee. In August of 1991, He reached his permanent duty station, M.C.A.S. New River, in Jacksonville, NC. On July 18th, 1992, they welcomed their first child, Scott, into the world, and so began the next phase of their journey. God also blessed them with the birth of Elizabeth in 1993. In July, of 1995, after serving his country for 5 years, he received an honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps. He then returned to his hometown of Fairview, N.C. He and Ms. Jackie and their children began attending Arrington Branch Baptist Church of Marshall, N.C. under Pastor Harold Ray. God blessed them with Ashley, Sarah, Jonathan, Rebekah, Caleb, Leigha and Lydia over the next several years. On October 3rd, 2004, he answered the call to preach. He began his first Pastorate in January 2005 at Lusk Chapel Baptist Church in Spring Creek N.C. where God blessed and worked in hearts. He remained there until March of 2008. He began his Pastorate at Little Ivy Baptist Church on April 13th, 2008, and continues to serve faithfully. Pastor Dotson and the congregation of Little Ivy Baptist Church are enjoying great growth and fellowship.
